I had a wonderful seat in premium economy and there were empty seats all around. One of the best things was my qantas blanket, a big RED one, which I bonded with instantly and desperately wanted to take when I left the plane, I even had room in my little suitcase, but I survived that challenge and left it behind on the plane. There were lots of mixed couples on the plane with small children, taking the little ones back to see the Japanese side of the family. One family had a toddler and a 5 week old baby! So there will be some excited grandparents waiting I dare say.
It is obviously not so great to fly into Narita too early as everything here is closed. I am just a few feet from the Q Lounge but it does not open till 8.30 either. But there is free wifi, so that helps. Also not so many photo opportunities except for the toilets, which i will save for another post as I am sure I will run into others along the way.
Ok shops are starting to open so I will go on picture search.......
One Just HAS to take photos of the plastic food which fills the windows of the small eateries, so you can visualise each dish and make your choice. They are so well done. The boxes of sweets are also intriguing very beautiful. How about chocolate coated potato chips? And wonder of wonders the humble kit Kate as sacred status here and they have their own Japanese flavours. I photographed the kit Kay story, hopefully it is readable

Now I'm going backwards to try on this one. I can see it is pretty easy to read Japanese because it's in English. I'll have to try melted chocolate over potato chips for dessert. I'm sure Nico would love it. We're having dinner there tonight. I've always wanted to go to Japan. Up north where they have those big drums. You have to be pretty fit to hit them.
