Departure Day

I am on my way to South Korea for a week-long workshop which I will be helping to run. More pn that later. Today is the setting out day. Jerry drove me to Hornsby from where I took the train to Central and then to Intl, getting here early so I could take advantage of my Qantas Club Membership. All worked as planned. On my train segment I  share the train with many people going to the harbour for the Naval Review Fireworks. I crossed the Harbour Bridge and so could see the Harbour chockers with ships large and small and the bridge itself offering only the smallest standing room on the south walkway, just hundreds of people standing there with cameras and telescopes set up, looks like they have had a great turn out, which is always good.
Once on the Q Lounge there are flat screen everywhere so lots of views of the celebrations and of Prince Harry and the Abbott Family. Whenever Harry was on the screen heaps of the older ladies in the lounge( not me!) were making approving noises, I do not get this really. Then the Abbott family appeared in a photo OP WITH P Harry, the 2 Abbott girls in white once Again? Is this some sort of message? And is there another Abbott daughter, I was sure there were 3, should we be hearing more from the missing daughter? Does she hate wearing white? Hate her dad? Or is there another story?

Wonder of all wonders, we had an amazing view of the fireworks from the Qantas lounge. Of course there are flat screens all through the place but out of the window you were looking at the harbour directly from the south and you could see each of the 5 fireworks launch sites going off at the same time, quite special from this distance, but no noise! So that made it a Bit spooky.

  1. Well Chrissie, I'll try to post again here, otherwise I'll be doing your email. Glad you're on the road again. We enjoy your blogs. Unfortunately, we'll be outside the blog, not in it. But that's okay. It's easier to comment. We want pics and to hell with Abbot. Buzzie and Crissie
