Arriving into Busan Airport I had to find the bus to Changwon about 40 minutes to the Northwest. This turned out to be easy and there were 2 other people there going to the meeting, a lady from Japan and a man from Indonesia. Changwon is a very neat city, loads of greenery along the roads and very lovely parks with beautiful gardens all around. I have been here twice before, the last time for the Ramsar COP, the same meeting I went to in Romania last year.
I had messages waiting for me at the desk to meet up with the workshop teamin the late afternoon. S I had time for a shower and a quick explore. I found this great little shop that looked like a 2 dollar shop, packed to the rafters with stuff, I bought 9 quality items for 20,000 Wan, about $20AUD. Downstairs was a small market and I just had to take a photo of one of the cereals on the shelf. This mystified the shopkeeper, who asked me in Korean what I was doing. Luckily the young girl there understood when I said I was taking a photo to share with my grandchildren.
Sitting with the workshop team later that afternoon, a couple arrived asking for me. You will see their picture below, they were my hosts the first time I came to Korea in 2005. At that time they worked for the same Korean NGO and they were not married. Now they are and have started their own wetland consulting firm. I went to dinner with them later to a lovely small restaurant for my first real Korean meal for this trip, Kim chi, other pickled vegetables, a platter of steamed pork, my favourite bean paste which I am sure is addictive, many other veggies and lots of different leaves for. Wrapping your food and eating. Yum

I was wondering what happened to the blog. I will show the boys the cereal when they wake up
ReplyDeleteI couldn't post on your Narita blog, so I'll try on this one. Back to chopsticks I see and long spoons. I want some of those. Good for backscratching while you're eating. I like that green wrapped stuff on a stick it appears. Looks like chili peppers. Was that the restaurant? Looks like table seating inside and floor sitting outside. What did you drink for alcohol? Looks like this comment will fly.
